Clovis Pool Builders

Licensed pool construction, remodeling and service in Clovis, CA (Fresno County) — from your neighbors in Hanford.

Clovis homeowners take backyards seriously, and we bid Clovis projects often. New neighborhoods with clean rear-yard access are ideal fiberglass sites. They are often the fastest installs we do.

How far we are from Clovis

39.6 mi from our Hanford shop — about 45 minutes via CA-99 N. We serve up to two hours out and schedule closest first. So Clovis sits well inside our normal working radius for site visits, build days and service calls. Standard shell freight is already included in every published price on this site. The drive is our problem, not a line on your estimate.

Clean rear-yard access is the biggest cost variable in a fiberglass install. Clovis subdivisions have more of it than anywhere else we serve.

What we build in Clovis

Who issues your Clovis pool permit

Permits go through the City of Clovis. We produce the plans and run the process. Inside the city limits it's the City of Clovis building division. Outside them it's Fresno County. This matters more than people expect. A Clovis mailing address does not guarantee a Clovis jurisdiction. The wrong counter costs you weeks. We check it by parcel before we draw anything. What the build looks like in Clovis

  1. Free site visit. Site visits here are an easy 45 minutes via CA-99 N. We measure the yard, confirm crane access, and put the real number in writing. Free.
  2. Plans & permit. City-limits addresses permit through the City of Clovis building division. Unincorporated ones go through Fresno County. We handle both, and the fee is in the price.
  3. Dig & set day. We dig, then crane the California-built shell in. The part the neighbors come out to watch takes a single day.
  4. Plumb, wire, deck, swim. Figure 2–4 weeks of build time for fiberglass once the Clovis permit is issued. Gunite takes 8–12.

Clovis has the newest housing stock we work in. Square rear yards. Wide side yards. Room to set up a crane without taking down a fence. For most Clovis yards we'd start with the Apollo 14, Axiom 16, Ariel 16. But the honest answer comes from measuring your buildable space and your access. How to size a pool to your yard →

Who issues the pool permit in Clovis?

Inside the city limits, the City of Clovis building division. Outside them, it's Fresno County. A Clovis mailing address does not always mean a Clovis jurisdiction. How far is your crew from Clovis?

39.6 mi, about 45 minutes from our shop in Hanford. We serve up to two hours out and schedule closest-first. So Clovis sits well inside our normal working radius. And standard shell freight is already included in every published price on this site.

How long does a pool build take in Clovis?

Fiberglass: most installs run 2–4 weeks once permits are in hand. The shell itself sets in a single day. Custom gunite: usually 8–12 weeks. Permit timelines vary by jurisdiction. We run that process for you.

How much do I have to put down?

Never more than $1,000. California law (B&P §7159) caps a contractor's down payment at the lesser of 10% or $1,000. And we only bill for work after it's completed. So the risk sits with us, not with you, until the work is done.

How do I know you're legit?

Check, don't trust. CSLB license #1139527 (C-53 + C-61/D-35) is current and active — verify it on the state's site. We carry a $25,000 contractor's bond and a $100,000 LLC employee/worker bond. We also carry $3,000,000 in liability insurance and workers' comp. Full credentials →

California protects pool buyers — and we follow the law to the letter

Under California law (Business & Professions Code §7159), a licensed contractor may collect a down payment of no more than $1,000 or 10% of the contract price, whichever is less. So no matter the size of your project, we will never ask for more than $1,000 down. And we only bill for work after it is done. If any pool company asks you for a 20–50% deposit up front, that is a red flag. It’s also illegal.

Commercial pools in Clovis

Everything above is residential. An HOA, apartment complex, school or hotel pool is a different job — tighter code, health-department inspection, and downtime that has to be scheduled around residents or guests. The same licence and the same $3,000,000 liability cover it, but the scope and the bid are their own thing: commercial pool contractors for Clovis and the Central Valley.

Here is your whole risk. The site visit is free. The written, itemized estimate is free. If you go ahead, California law caps your down payment at the lesser of 10% or $1,000 — on a pool, that means $1,000 — and we only bill for work after it’s done. Most fiberglass installs swim 2–4 weeks after the permit lands — and the walk that starts it all is free.
