Will the Ariel 16 fit your yard?
The Ariel 16 shell measures 16' x 40' at the water’s edge. With the 3’ of concrete decking that is already in the price on every side, the finished pad is about 22' by 46' — tape that out in the yard first. A pool this size also has to clear the setbacks — the distance from property lines, the house and easements that Kings, Tulare and Fresno county cities each set for themselves. We confirm yours before the site plan (permit guide).
In the 2026 California-built lineup the Ariel 16 is one of the big models: 1 of the other 46 models are longer and 39 hold less water. A shell this long still arrives in one piece from Latham’s Williams, CA plant, and the crane pick is the part we plan hardest — street or driveway access for a large crane is the first thing we look at on the site visit.
Depth, seating and who the Ariel 16 suits
It runs from 3'6" at the entry to 7'4" at the deep end, which is as deep as any fiberglass pool we install. Adults are well over their heads there. It is still not a diving pool — no fiberglass shell is rated for a board.
Built into the Ariel 16: a tanning ledge molded into the shell — a few inches of water for loungers, toddlers and the dog, swim-up seating along the wall so adults can sit in the water and talk, and an auto-cover-ready coping line, so an automatic safety cover fits without a custom track.

Owning an Ariel 16 in the Central Valley
A Central Valley summer — weeks over 100°F — pulls something like a quarter inch of water off an uncovered pool every day. On the Ariel 16’s roughly 640 square feet of water surface that is on the order of 100 gallons a day in July — the single best argument for an automatic cover on this model (the shell is already cut for one). A cover also holds heat overnight, which matters more on a 15,300-gallon pool than the brochure suggests.
Volume drives running cost. At 15,300 gallons the Ariel 16 needs more chemistry than a mid-size pool, which our weekly service plans price in, and the first fill takes about 28 hours from a garden hose at 500–600 gallons an hour — we start it the day the shell is set and plumbed. Our own Hanford crew handles the install, the permit and, if you want it, the weekly service afterward.

The shell is 16' x 40' with about 15,300 gallons of water. With the included 3’ deck the footprint is roughly 22' by 46', plus whatever setback your city or county requires from property lines and the house. We confirm the setback and draw the site plan before anything is signed.
How deep is the Ariel 16?
The Ariel 16 runs from 3'6" in the shallow end to 7'4" at the deep end. Like every fiberglass pool it is not rated for a diving board.
Does the Ariel 16 have a tanning ledge?
Yes. The tanning ledge is part of the Ariel 16 shell itself, not an add-on. A separate spa shell can be built alongside and is quoted as its own line.
How long does it take to fill the Ariel 16?
About 28 hours for 15,300 gallons from a standard garden hose. We start the fill the day the shell is set and plumbed; most projects go from dig to swim-ready in 2–4 weeks once the permit is in hand.

California protects pool buyers — and we follow the law to the letter
Under California law (Business & Professions Code §7159), a licensed contractor may collect a down payment of no more than $1,000 or 10% of the contract price, whichever is less. So no matter the size of your project, we will never ask for more than $1,000 down. And we only bill for work after it is done. If any pool company asks you for a 20–50% deposit up front, that is a red flag. It’s also illegal.
