The custom-pool question we hear most, answered with the same numbers our written estimates open with.
Our custom gunite pools start at $52,995. That is a complete standard 15'×30' build — designed, permitted and built by a CSLB-licensed C-53 contractor — not a shell-only number. Central Valley pricing. Prices are subject to change based on distance from Hanford, CA.
Size and depth first. Then anything added to the shape: an attached spa, a tanning ledge, raised walls or water features. Interior finish, tile and coping choices move it next. Site access and soil matter too. Each of those shows up as its own written line before you sign — never as an allowance that grows later.
Fiberglass starts lower — from $44,995 turnkey — and is swimmable in 2–4 weeks. Gunite starts at $52,995 and takes 8–12 weeks, but it is the only way to get a fully custom shape or a pool larger than the biggest fiberglass mold. Both numbers are published here so you can compare them before anyone calls you.
Most builds take 8–12 weeks once permits are in hand: excavation, steel, plumbing, shotcrete, tile and coping, decking, interior finish, then fill and startup. Permit timing varies by city and county; we handle the whole process.
Never more than $1,000. California law caps a contractor's down payment at the lesser of 10% or $1,000, and we bill only after each stage of work is complete.

California protects pool buyers — and we follow the law to the letter
Under California law (Business & Professions Code §7159), a licensed contractor may collect a down payment of no more than $1,000 or 10% of the contract price, whichever is less. So no matter the size of your project, we will never ask for more than $1,000 down. And we only bill for work after it is done. If any pool company asks you for a 20–50% deposit up front, that is a red flag. It’s also illegal.
Most of our clients finance through HFS Financial. These are unsecured home improvement loans. There is no lien on your property.

This is an example only, not an offer of credit. The lender sets all rates, terms and approvals. HFS Financial advertises fixed rates from 7.8% APR and loans up to $450,000, with terms from 1–30 years. Checking your rate uses a soft credit pull. It does not affect your credit score.
Get your written number first — then check your rate with HFS (soft pull, no score impact).
A free estimate takes one site visit. You’ll get final prices in writing. And under California law, starting the project never takes more than $1,000 down.
