Will the Barcelona fit your yard?
The Barcelona shell measures 16' x 38' at the water’s edge. With the 3’ of concrete decking that is already in the price on every side, the finished pad is about 22' by 44' — tape that out in the yard first. A pool this size also has to clear the setbacks — the distance from property lines, the house and easements that Kings, Tulare and Fresno county cities each set for themselves. We confirm yours before the site plan (permit guide).
In the 2026 California-built lineup the Barcelona is one of the big models: 7 of the other 46 models are longer and 45 hold less water. A shell this long still arrives in one piece from Latham’s Williams, CA plant, and the crane pick is the part we plan hardest — street or driveway access for a large crane is the first thing we look at on the site visit.
Depth, seating and who the Barcelona suits
It runs from 3'6" at the entry to a true 7' deep end where adults are over their heads. Families with teenagers ask for this depth by name. It is still not a diving pool — no fiberglass shell is rated for a board.
Built into the Barcelona: swim-up seating along the wall so adults can sit in the water and talk, a wading area where the smallest swimmers can stand, curved entry stairs that make the walk in feel like a resort, and an auto-cover-ready coping line, so an automatic safety cover fits without a custom track.

Owning a Barcelona in the Central Valley
A Central Valley summer — weeks over 100°F — pulls something like a quarter inch of water off an uncovered pool every day. On the Barcelona’s roughly 610 square feet of water surface that is on the order of 90 gallons a day in July — the single best argument for an automatic cover on this model (the shell is already cut for one). A cover also holds heat overnight, which matters more on a 18,500-gallon pool than the brochure suggests.
Volume drives running cost. At 18,500 gallons the Barcelona needs more chemistry than a mid-size pool, which our weekly service plans price in, and the first fill takes about 34 hours from a garden hose at 500–600 gallons an hour — we start it the day the shell is set and plumbed. Our own Hanford crew handles the install, the permit and, if you want it, the weekly service afterward.

How big is the Barcelona, and how much yard does it need?
The shell is 16' x 38' with about 18,500 gallons of water. With the included 3’ deck the footprint is roughly 22' by 44', plus whatever setback your city or county requires from property lines and the house. We confirm the setback and draw the site plan before anything is signed.
How deep is the Barcelona?
The Barcelona runs from 3'6" in the shallow end to 7' at the deep end. Like every fiberglass pool it is not rated for a diving board.
Can I add a tanning ledge or spa to the Barcelona?
Yes. Neither is molded into this shell, so we build a standalone fiberglass ledge or spa alongside the pool and show it as its own line on the estimate. The upgrade list on this page has the starting prices.
How long does it take to fill the Barcelona?
About 34 hours for 18,500 gallons from a standard garden hose. We start the fill the day the shell is set and plumbed; most projects go from dig to swim-ready in 2–4 weeks once the permit is in hand.

California protects pool buyers — and we follow the law to the letter
Under California law (Business & Professions Code §7159), a licensed contractor may collect a down payment of no more than $1,000 or 10% of the contract price, whichever is less. So no matter the size of your project, we will never ask for more than $1,000 down. And we only bill for work after it is done. If any pool company asks you for a 20–50% deposit up front, that is a red flag. It’s also illegal.
