Will the Astoria 14 fit your yard?

The Astoria 14 shell measures 14' x 35' at the water’s edge. With the 3’ of concrete decking that is already in the price on every side, the finished pad is about 20' by 41' — tape that out in the yard first. Then add the setback: every Central Valley jurisdiction sets its own distance from property lines, the house and any easement, and it comes out of the same yard. We pull the number for your address before the site plan is drawn (permits, explained).

In the 2026 California-built lineup the Astoria 14 is a mid-size model: 12 of the other 46 models are longer and 30 hold less water. The shell rides in on one truck from Latham’s Williams, CA plant and is set by crane in a single pick, so what we check on the site visit is where the crane can stand, not whether the gate is wide enough.

Depth, seating and who the Astoria 14 suits

It runs from 3'6" at the entry to a true 6'6" deep end where adults are over their heads. Families with teenagers ask for this depth by name. It is still not a diving pool — no fiberglass shell is rated for a board.

Built into the Astoria 14: a spa molded into the shell — one shell, one crane pick, one equipment pad, and with a heater it is usable on a January night, a tanning ledge molded into the shell — a few inches of water for loungers, toddlers and the dog, swim-up seating along the wall so adults can sit in the water and talk, a champagne wall that spills from the spa into the pool, and an auto-cover-ready coping line, so an automatic safety cover fits without a custom track.

Astoria 14 vs. the models next to it

The Astoria 14 is one of 3 Astoria models built in California this year. Same shape language, different size and price:

ModelSizeDepthVolumeInstalled
Astoria 1212' x 28'3' – 5'7"6,000 galfrom $76,995
Astoria 1414' x 35'3'6" – 6'6"10,700 galfrom $71,995
Astoria 1615'10" x 40'3'6" – 7'15,600 galfrom $93,995

Stepping up to the Astoria 16 adds 5' of length and 4,900 gallons for $22,000 more. Against the Astoria 12, the Astoria 14 carries 4,700 more gallons for $5,000 less. Each figure is the installed price, not a shell price, so the gap is real.

Owning an Astoria 14 in the Central Valley

July and August in Hanford sit above 100°F day after day; an uncovered pool here gives up roughly a quarter inch of water a day. On the Astoria 14’s roughly 490 square feet of water surface that is on the order of 80 gallons a day in July — the single best argument for an automatic cover on this model (the shell is already cut for one). A cover also holds heat overnight, which matters more on a 10,700-gallon pool than the brochure suggests.

Volume drives running cost. At 10,700 gallons the Astoria 14 needs about the chlorine and acid a typical Valley pool does, and the first fill takes about 19 hours from a garden hose at 500–600 gallons an hour — we start it the day the shell is set and plumbed. Our own Hanford crew handles the install, the permit and, if you want it, the weekly service afterward.

Astoria 14 questions

How much does the Astoria 14 cost installed in Hanford?

The Astoria 14 starts at $71,995 turnkey: excavation, the shell, equipment, plumbing, standard freight, 3’ of concrete decking, plans, permitting and taxes. Central Valley pricing. Prices are subject to change based on distance from Hanford, CA. California law caps the down payment at the lesser of 10% or $1,000, and we bill only for work that is done.

How big is the Astoria 14, and how much yard does it need?

The shell is 14' x 35' with about 10,700 gallons of water. With the included 3’ deck the footprint is roughly 20' by 41', plus whatever setback your city or county requires from property lines and the house. We confirm the setback and draw the site plan before anything is signed.

How deep is the Astoria 14?

The Astoria 14 runs from 3'6" in the shallow end to 6'6" at the deep end. Like every fiberglass pool it is not rated for a diving board.

Does the Astoria 14 come with a spa?

Yes. The spa is molded into the Astoria 14 shell, so it is set with the pool in the same crane pick and runs on the same equipment pad. Add a heater and it is a year-round spa.

How long does it take to fill the Astoria 14?

About 19 hours for 10,700 gallons from a standard garden hose. We start the fill the day the shell is set and plumbed; most projects go from dig to swim-ready in 2–4 weeks once the permit is in hand.

Backed by Latham. Installed by a Grand Dealer.

Latham Pool Grand Builder seal

Neighborhood Pool Service is a Latham Grand Dealer — the top tier of Latham’s dealer network. Your Astoria 14 ships from Latham’s factory. Our licensed local crew installs it to Latham’s specs (CSLB #1139527, verify). And Latham backs the shell with its limited lifetime structural warranty.

California protects pool buyers — and we follow the law to the letter

Under California law (Business & Professions Code §7159), a licensed contractor may collect a down payment of no more than $1,000 or 10% of the contract price, whichever is less. So no matter the size of your project, we will never ask for more than $1,000 down. And we only bill for work after it is done. If any pool company asks you for a 20–50% deposit up front, that is a red flag. It’s also illegal.

You already know the starting price — it’s printed above. Tell us where the pool is going. We’ll come out, walk the yard, and put a real number in writing. It’s free, and usually done within a couple of days. And if you go ahead, California law caps your down payment at the lesser of 10% or $1,000.
